Sponsored by The Animal Medical Supply, The Krewe of Barkus is full of just that....lots of barks and laughter. Each
year, Meridian's finest dogs come downtown to participate in the Krewe of Barkus. The theme for the Krewe
of Barkus parade is, "A Steet Dog Named Desire". The Krewe lines up in the back parking lot of Wrangler Furniture (on 4th Street). At 10:00am, the Krewe parades down 23rd Avenue to Front Street and takes a left on 22nd
Avenue. The Krewe prances by the reviewing stand where judges will rate the members of the Krewe on manners and costume. Many
Krewe parents will also be in costume. The parade ends on the corner of 7th Street and 22nd Avenue as the Krewe members and parents come back into Dumont Plaza to
await the crowning of the King and Queen, as well as, mingle with the common folk. The money raised from this event goes to East Mississippi Animal Rescue
to provide for our less fortunate Krewe Members. To participate in the Krewe of Barkus, clink on the link below.
